OH NO!

 Howdy folks so we have finally managed to pick up Jeff and get on the road but its been interesting! 

We finally managed to pick it up on Friday 2nd September at 3pm but due to final adjustments and a detailed tour around/explanations of the various toys fitted we didn't get to drive home till 6.30pm. We then spent all day Saturday trying to work out where to put everything in the mass of storage we have and then finally on Sunday we were able to get on the road back to the midlands where we planned to head to the park to meet up with people and show them around Jeff. However the weather had other plans and it rained most the time so instead we played how many people can we fit in the van and drank tea. 

Once we left the park we headed to one of our regular house sits for dinner and to stay the night on their drive in the van. It proceeded to thunder over night which was spectacular (and I'm glad we managed to close the pop up roof window minutes before the rain came down! 

The next morning the plan was to see a few people before heading to wales but life had other plans for us and we somehow managed to lock the keys in the van (don't ask) while shopping for some essentials. VW recovery came out and managed, after an hour and a half to get us in the van by putting a rod in and pressing the button on the keys. The good thing that we learnt is that the locks are very hard to pick (he tried for almost an hour) and we have learnt not to leave the van without the keys as you never know if the doors may lock automatically. 

Once this was all sorted we headed on to wales to the Brecon Beacons to relax for the afternoon but it rained and the drive to our place involved very tight country lanes but we have finally made it here and had a warm shower each so finally feel like our travels have begun!
